Madison Gray

Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC)

Registered-Dance Movement Therapist (R-DMT)

Madison received her formal education through Drexel University where she received a dual degree in dance/movement therapy and counseling. Her background shares Juniper Canyon’s philosophy in holistic wellbeing. Dance/movement therapy is defined as the psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive, and physical integration of the individual, for the purpose of improving health and well-being. Before joining Juniper Canyon, Madison interned at Jefferson-Moss-Magee Rehabilitation Center, for brain and spinal cord injuries. She is greatly humbled by her time with these patients and is constantly inspired by their strength, hope, and perseverance.

Madison’s childhood passion for dance and the healing arts forged a path in body-based therapeutics. After years of dancing with a variety of companies, she shifted her body knowledge towards the yoga sciences. There she passionately stepped into the role as instructor. She has received a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate through Asheville Yoga Center, a 250 Hour Yoga Teacher Training through Evolation Yoga, and Aerial Yoga Teacher Training through CamiyogaAir. She has received a certificate in Anatomy through Anatomy.net and phase I Yoga Therapy through Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy.

While strengthening these skills, Madison worked in a variety of different outdoor programs including American Conservation Experience. During these trail building and environmental restoration days, she developed a deep understanding of the therapeutic power of living extensively with the land which led to a natural transition to work as a field guide in Wilderness Therapy. During her employment at a young adult program, she helped develop the mindfulness program and supported clients as a field guide and yoga instructor.

At Juniper Canyon, Madison is passionate in integrating nature as her co-therapist and reconnecting clients to their intuitive body/mind. She practices creative arts therapy from a somatic-based, trauma-informed and person centered approach.
