Jack Huther

FIELD DIRECTOR

Jack grew up in Michigan exploring the woods behind his childhood home with his three older brothers.  He is positive this was the start of his life-long desire to find healing in the wilderness began.  Jack attended Indiana University and studied English Education.  He then went on to work for AmeriCorps in the Taos, New Mexico school system.

Jack has been in Outdoor Education for over a decade. He worked with at-risk youth at Aspen Achievement Academy for almost 5 years. During his many years at Legacy Treatment Center, Jack has been a field guide, mentor, and field specialist. He is currently the Field Director at Legacy Outdoor Adventure and Juniper Canyon Recovery Center for Women. He enjoys teaching, educating, and mentoring young people as they work to change their lives and he truly believes there is no better place to do so. While living in Utah, Jack has explored many canyons, rivers, mountains, and ancient ruins. He continues to be amazed at the vast beauty and wonderment that Utah has to offer.

Jack’s passions and interests outside of work include playing the guitar, organic farming, canyoneering, bike touring, fishing, and exploring.
