Frequently Asked Questions
People who take prescription medications for longer, at a higher dose, or in any way other than prescribed have misused the medication. Taking drugs prescribed to someone else for any reason also qualifies as substance abuse. Prescription medications should be used only by the person to whom they are prescribed, as recommended by a medical professional.
Some of the most common prescription medications that have the potential for dependence or addiction include benzodiazepines like Xanax, painkillers like fentanyl, Adderall, Ritalin, and other medications used to treat mood disorders, chronic pain, and other conditions.
A healthcare provider may also prescribe drugs to treat SUD that have the potential to cause dependence, including methadone and buprenorphine. We only use medications when medically necessary to provide relief from severe symptoms or to help clients maintain sobriety.
Our programs generally last 90 days. However, we can accommodate longer lengths of stay to meet the needs of clients who require additional support before transitioning to lower levels of care.
Relapse prevention education and planning prepare people for long-term recovery by ensuring they know how to recognize the warning signs of relapse and how best to respond. We provide comprehensive relapse-prevention planning to ensure clients feel confident in their ability to manage their condition before transitioning to outpatient treatment or aftercare.
Families support their loved one during rehabilitation by actively participating in the treatment process by attending family therapy, psychoeducation sessions, support groups, and community events.
Substance abuse impacts all members of a family unit, and everyone benefits from healing together using professional recovery services and community-based programs. Family members of young adults especially benefit from the guidance of healthcare professionals who can help them navigate each stage of recovery.
Our medical professionals provide insight and assistance to families during every step of their loved one’s recovery journey, from the initial intake and medical detox facilitation to inpatient care and outpatient treatment.
