What Makes Legacy Different
Accredited and Evidence-Based Wilderness Therapy in Utah

A Licensed Residential Treatment Program Led by Clinical Experts
Ethical, Trauma-Informed Care — Not a “Boot Camp” Approach
We are not like the troubled teen industry that only further traumatizes struggling teens, or like one-size-fits-all therapeutic boarding schools. Instead, we provide a small, personalized experience that draws on both holistic and clinical therapies for comprehensive treatment. We are a treatment facility, not a boot camp.

Frequently Asked Questions
Anyone can benefit from wilderness therapy, especially those who are committed to making personal changes.
However, clients at Legacy must be able to meet physical and cognitive ability criteria to participate in wilderness and adventure activities. This is to ensure safety for each of our clients.
Safety is maintained by our team of expert field guides who are licensed and accredited to provide adventure therapy. Clients are first assessed to ensure they meet the requirements needed to safely participate in outdoor activities. Our on-site medical team is readily available to assist should an accident or emergency occur. Clients while at Legacy are under the care and oversight of industry professionals who work to ensure their experience is a safe one.
Our residential treatment program lasts for 90 days.
To know if your insurance policy covers our program, please verify your benefits. Legacy has been able to work with many insurance companies, including those with out-of-network coverage, to make care as affordable and seamless as possible.
We also partner with the Sky’s the Limit Fund to make our wilderness therapy program more accessible. They are a nonprofit that provides financial assistance to families of adolescents and young adults struggling with acute mental health conditions. This further helps remove barriers to treatment, allowing more people to access the power of nature-based therapies.
Families can stay involved through our family program, which offers weekly therapeutic updates, family therapy, in-person family workshops, free psychoeducational webinars, and weekly virtual live parent support groups.
