- 90-Day Primary Treatment Program Overview: During your 90-day program, you will go through different stages. The first is joining others at “Base.” This is what we call our cabins and lodges. You will spend a few days each week here, and the rest will be in nature. Once you have completed your first steps to treatment, you will meet with your therapist to create a treatment plan. While at Base, you will participate in individual and group therapy. And you will learn life skills like showering and doing laundry. After you complete your time at Base, you will move to Summit House. Here you will become more independ
- Gender-Specific Programs: Gender-specific programs foster a sense of security when sharing experiences. Our gender-based adventure therapy treatment facilities provide the safety and comfort needed.
- Adventure and Experiential Therapies – These therapies help build self-confidence and self-efficacy and give a sense of control over your present-day life. They’re evidence-based therapies that promote long-term recovery.
- Support and Education for Families – A healthy family relationship is vital to recovery. During your treatment, you have the chance to engage in family therapy. You will work with your family or loved one to understand how your behavior affected them. They will also learn more about your addiction.
- Collaboration with Our Medical Director: If you have any medical needs, your therapist will collaborate with the doctor to ensure you receive the necessary care.
- Medication Management: If you take medication when you join us, we will ensure you continue. We will also prescribe medication if needed. Throughout your time, our doctor will monitor your medication.
Our Levels of Care
We have a variety of levels of care that meet your personal needs. Throughout your stay with us, you will discover how your alcohol addiction affects your behaviors and relationships. Your treatment program also includes learning skills and finding resources that will help you maintain sober living.
Our treatment options are:
Our treatment options are:
Residential Treatment Program (RTC)
Our residential treatment program lasts from 30 to 90 days. While at our residential treatment center, you will learn basic life skills and graduate from one level of residential treatment to another, where you do tasks like cooking your meals. A benefit of residential rehab is that you are in a safe, supportive environment that allows you to open up and share with others. Your peers can help you learn about yourself, trust others, and face challenges.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
A partial hospitalization program is an intensive, structured treatment program. While in PHP, you will attend several hours of therapy 5-7 days a week. However, unlike RTC, you go home in the evening.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
While you attend an IOP, you can also live at home and go to work. You will attend day treatment, including therapy sessions at the center, a few hours a day on specific days.
Outpatient Treatment and Aftercare
During your residential stay, you will transition to the Summit House. The Summit Graduation Phase is the last of your 90-day residential treatment program. Once here, you can make necessary calls and find relevant programs or educational opportunities supporting your recovery after you leave our program. You are encouraged to be involved in outside groups and are always welcome to return if you need treatment or aftercare.

Dual-Diagnosis Treatment
You may have mental health issues that affect your alcohol use disorder. As a part of our comprehensive assessment, we ask questions identifying underlying causes, such as a mental health disorder. If you are diagnosed with a mental health disorder and an alcohol or substance use disorder (for example, an opioid addiction), it is considered a dual diagnosis. Proper treatment that combines mental health therapy and holistic therapies can help. Some examples of holistic therapies are
- Yoga
- Meditation
- Mountain biking
- Equine therapy
Treating the Root Cause of Addiction
An addiction is more than its source. Focusing on substances like
- Cocaine
- Heroin
- Alcohol
- Marijuana
fails to address the root cause of your addiction.
Compulsive behavior is often linked to a substance use disorder (SUD). You may use alcohol as a way to escape from feelings like

Once the root cause is identified, your alcohol use disorder can be treated.

Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
If you can’t control your alcohol or substance use even when you experience negative consequences, you could be diagnosed with a substance use disorder.

You may not recognize the signs of alcohol addiction because alcohol is traditionally viewed as socially acceptable. However, a few signs include
- Craving alcohol
- Neglecting responsibilities
- Unsuccessful attempts to cut down on how much you drink
- Giving up social or work activities to drink

Mental Health Conditions
Mental health conditions can play a role in a SUD. For example, traumatic experiences like

- Childhood abuse
- Neglect
- Death of a parent or loved one
may require a combination of standard and holistic therapies. An evidence-based form of care is trauma-informed care.

Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma can change how you see and interact with others. Trauma-informed care is a way for therapists to relate to and help you heal after a traumatic event. Because there isn’t one type of therapy used in trauma-informed care, your therapist may combine therapies to guide you.
Evidence-Based Treatment
Our therapists use evidence-based therapies to help you identify, discuss, and face your trauma. Two types of treatment are
- Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Cognitive behavioral therapy is often used to address post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression. CBT is often used because it quickly helps you discover challenges and how to cope. Your therapist may give you assignments to complete between therapy sessions.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – DBT is clinically effective at helping people with mental health disorders or who are at risk of suicide. Research has shown it’s effective at changing unhealthy habits with healthy ones. It’s used to treat substance use disorders.

Weekly Progress Monitoring and Results Tracking
During your treatment, you will participate in group and individual therapy sessions. While meeting with your therapist, you will discuss your progress, how specific activities support your goals, and what the results are from your participation in standard and adventure therapy.
Holistic Approach to Alcohol Rehab
Holistic therapy is the use of one or more interventions in alcohol use or drug abuse programs. It involves therapies focusing on healing the mind, body, and spirit. It aims to guide you to heal and flourish on a deeper level.
Adventure Therapy and Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare
Experiential therapy uses hands-on activities to help you express your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Experiential and adventure therapy use the outdoors as a part of your recovery journey. Adventure therapy is another outdoor-based therapy that promotes confidence, goal-setting, empowerment, and character building. It can also help you in the early days of your addiction treatment program. When you immerse yourself in outdoor activities like rock climbing, canyoneering, or backpacking, you focus on what you are doing. The benefit of focusing on the activity is that you experience decreased feelings of withdrawal symptoms.
Supportive Environment for Personal Growth
- Expert Staff: Our therapists have extensive experience and training in mental health and substance use disorders. They’re knowledgeable in the latest research-based techniques.
- Group Therapy Sessions: Your group therapy sessions are vital because you share experiences with others, receive support from them, and create bonds to support your recovery.

Once you have decided to start your recovery journey, you can contact our experienced and welcoming admissions team. Once you are admitted, you will complete an assessment that determines your care level. This level of care determines whether you need day treatment, outpatient services, or residential treatment.
During your assessment, your therapist may need to refer you to our medical doctor if you need alcohol detoxification. Alcohol detox must be monitored carefully by trained medical staff. Once you transition from an alcohol detox treatment program to one of our treatment programs, you will meet with your therapist.
Your therapist will work with you to create a graduation and treatment plan. We develop a graduation plan in the beginning so you can learn the skills and put in place the resources you need to transition from treatment to your life. Since you help create your treatment plan, you have a chance to exert control over your present situation. This sense of control can help build self-efficacy and confidence.
