Drug Rehab for Women

At Legacy Outdoor Adventures in Loa, Utah, our drug rehab program is designed for women ages 18 to 40 who are struggling with substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health disorders, and trauma. We are a licensed residential treatment center providing comprehensive, evidence-based care that combines clinical therapy, adventure therapy, and psychiatric support to help women build a foundation for lasting recovery.

Our Utah Drug Addiction Treatment Program for Women

Women often experience unique challenges in recovery, including trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and other mental health conditions. All of these factors can contribute to substance use. At our treatment facility, we provide gender-specific care through a residential treatment experience. Our program is designed to simultaneously address addiction and co-occurring disorders through individualized, trauma-informed care tailored to the needs of each individual.

Treatment lasts approximately 90 days and is conducted by a team of licensed therapists, medical providers, adventure therapy professionals, case managers, and additional support staff. The program takes place in Loa, Utah, and includes clinical programming and adventure therapy in a professionally supervised setting. We provide a strong and consistent staff presence, allowing for individualized care and continuous support throughout the entire treatment process.

A Safe Healing Addiction Treatment Center for Women

The recovery process looks different for each and every woman. Many women who are entering treatment may have specific needs and struggles. This could include challenges with mental health, self-esteem, trauma, family relationships, life transitions, and overall emotional well-being.

At Legacy Outdoor Adventures, we recognize these unique experiences and provide care focused on the individual rather than the addiction alone. This is one of the many aspects of our women’s-only care that sets us apart from other treatment programs.

Women participate in a licensed residential program that combines clinical care with experiential healing opportunities. Throughout treatment, women engage in individual therapy, group and family therapy, adventure therapy, psychiatric services, and personalized treatment planning that is designed to support long-term recovery. By helping women develop effective coping skills, build greater emotional resilience, and regain focus on their goals, the recovery process can not only promote personal growth but also set them up for long-term recovery.

What Sets Us Apart

Our approach to treatment goes beyond traditional models by combining clinical sophistication, structured care, and measurable outcomes. At Legacy, every aspect of the program is intentionally designed to support deep, lasting healing, not just short-term stabilization.

Adventure Therapy Integrated With Clinical Treatment

Our program combines adventure therapy three days per week with over 20 hours of structured clinical therapy. This balanced approach helps clients apply therapeutic insights in real-world settings, building resilience, confidence, and emotional regulation in a way that traditional settings often cannot replicate.

Individualized, Whole-Person Treatment
Plans

Every client receives a personalized treatment plan based on a comprehensive evaluation of their mental health, substance use, trauma history, and lifestyle factors. We treat the whole person by integrating clinical care, experiential work, and personal development into one cohesive process.

Trauma-Informed, Clinically Sophisticated
Approach

All care is delivered through a trauma-informed lens, ensuring emotional safety while addressing the underlying drivers of substance use and mental health challenges. Our licensed clinicians provide advanced therapeutic interventions in a structured, supportive environment.

Structured Residential Setting With High Clinical Engagement

As a licensed residential treatment center (RTC), we provide a highly structured environment that supports consistency, accountability, and focus. Clients engage in a full weekly schedule of therapy, adventure-based experiences, and guided reflection designed to promote sustainable change.

Low Client-to-Staff Ratio and Personalized
Attention

With a limited number of clients, our team is able to provide focused, individualized attention. This allows for deeper therapeutic relationships, more responsive care, and a treatment experience tailored to each client’s needs and goals.

Aftercare & Long-Term Recovery
Planning

We believe in comprehensive care and, as such, work with clients for long-term recovery planning. The Summit Graduation Phase is our way of ensuring that clients transition from treatment with the skills and planning needed for success. This program is embedded in our 90-day program and includes referrals and resources for post-treatment support.

What to Expect From Our Adventure-Based Rehab Center

At our drug rehab for women, treatment is designed to be truly engaging. Women can expect a structured residential experience, strong community connection, and holistic and trauma-informed care.

A Structured Daily Routine

The healing process requires accountability, consistency, and full engagement. At our addiction treatment centers, each day follows a structured routine that includes clinical treatment, adventure therapy, community involvement, and personal reflection. Women take part in individual counseling, experiential activities, group therapy, and skill-building activities.

This schedule is very intentional and is designed to promote emotional growth throughout recovery. It also helps to develop important life skills, improve self-discipline, and develop routines that will be helpful throughout recovery.

Community Connection

Recovery should not happen alone – it involves community connection. Throughout treatment, women are part of a supportive community in which they can build meaningful relationships with peers who understand the challenges of substance use and mental health recovery. Women’s-only support groups promote honesty, accountability, honest communication, and mutual peer support.

Clients also have the ability to practice healthy interpersonal skills. The relationships formed during drug and alcohol rehab can provide encouragement and continued motivation throughout long-term recovery.

Holistic and Trauma-Informed Care

Many women entering recovery have gone through trauma, challenging life events, and emotional challenges that may be contributing to their drug or alcohol abuse. Our trauma-informed approach recognizes the impact of these challenges and prioritizes safety, trust, collaboration, and empowerment.

Through evidence-based therapies, individualized treatment planning, psychiatric support, and adventure-based experiences, women are able to process the underlying issues that may be behind their substance use or mental health struggles. They can develop greater emotional resilience and healthier ways of coping with stress, trauma, and other forms of emotional pain.

Treatment Options to Support the Recovery Journey

Recovery is an ongoing process that encompasses more than immediate problems with drug or alcohol use. Our treatment approach helps women develop important life skills and build emotional resiliency, while having access to the support system they need to avoid relapse and enjoy long-term recovery.

Relapse Prevention

Throughout treatment, relapse prevention strategies are implemented to help clients learn to recognize their triggers, strengthen healthy coping mechanisms, and create an ongoing personalized treatment plan to help them avoid relapse and continue making progress in their recovery.

Family Involvement

At our rehab facilities, family involvement is a valued aspect of the treatment process. Through family therapy, educational resources, and continued communication, we help clients develop healthier relationships with their loved ones. We also help promote understanding, rebuild trust, and create healthier patterns as the individual moves forward with their recovery.

Is It Time for Women’s Rehab?

It can be difficult to determine if women’s rehab is necessary, especially when substance use has become a part of daily life over an extended period of time. If alcohol or drug use has begun to impact an individual’s physical or mental health, employment, relationships, or overall functioning, it is likely that professional treatment is necessary.

Warning Signs of Substance Use Disorder

There are some warning signs of substance use disorder to be aware of when determining if it is time to seek out treatment. Common warning signs may include:
  • Building up a tolerance
  • Attempting to cut back or quit using a particular substance but struggling to do so
  • Continuing to engage in substance use even when it has begun impacting relationships, work, or health
  • Changes in sleeping or eating patterns
  • Withdrawal symptoms when not using a substance

The Importance of Early Intervention

Early intervention allows substance use to be addressed before it causes additional issues in a person’s life. By reaching out for help sooner rather than later, women have the opportunity to develop healthier coping strategies and begin the recovery process before it causes even more disruption in their lives.
