Alcohol Rehab for Women

Legacy Outdoor Adventures provides licensed residential alcohol rehab for women ages 18-40 who are struggling with alcohol addiction, co-occurring mental health disorders, and trauma. Located in Loa, Utah, our evidence-based addiction treatment programs combine trauma-informed clinical care, psychiatric support, and adventure therapy to support long-term recovery.

Our Women’s Alcohol Addiction Treatment Program

Substance use disorder can have a significant impact on virtually all areas of a woman’s life. This includes their physical and mental health, employment, relationships, and overall well-being. Our treatment facility offers a gender-specific residential treatment program for women between the ages of 18 and 40 who are struggling with alcohol addiction, co-occurring mental health disorders, and trauma.

At our facility, our 90-day program takes place here in Loa, Utah. We utilize trauma-informed, evidence-based care not just to treat addiction itself, but the underlying issues that may be behind it. Our team is composed of dedicated licensed therapists, medical providers, adventure therapy professionals, and recovery support staff.

A Safe Healing Rehab Program for Women

Women who are recovering from alcohol addiction are often best served by treatment that recognizes the relationship between substance use and mental health, trauma, and other life experiences. For this reason, we offer a gender-specific residential program that provides a supportive environment where women can focus on their healing and recovery without worrying about the distractions of everyday life. This structured program is tailored to each woman’s individual needs and allows access to peer support.

Recovery is built on evidence-based therapy, adventure therapy, and trauma-informed care. Our focus on adventure therapy sets us apart from recovery programs found at other addiction treatment centers. It allows women to apply the skills they learn in therapy to real-world challenges while also developing healthier coping mechanisms for stress and other complex emotions.

What Sets Us Apart

Our approach to treatment goes beyond traditional models by combining clinical sophistication, structured care, and measurable outcomes. At Legacy Outdoor Adventures, every aspect of the program is intentionally designed to support deep, lasting healing, not just short-term stabilization. We also focus on the specific needs of women through individualized care.

Adventure Therapy Integrated With Clinical Treatment

Our program combines adventure therapy three days per week with over 20 hours of structured clinical therapy. This balanced approach helps clients apply therapeutic insights in real-world settings, building resilience, confidence, and emotional regulation in a way that traditional settings often cannot replicate.

Individualized, Whole-Person Treatment
Plans

Every client receives a personalized treatment plan based on a comprehensive evaluation of their mental health, substance use, trauma history, and lifestyle factors. We treat the whole person by integrating clinical care, experiential work, and personal development into one cohesive process.

Trauma-Informed, Clinically Sophisticated
Approach

All care is delivered through a trauma-informed lens, ensuring emotional safety while addressing the underlying drivers of substance use and mental health challenges. Our licensed clinicians provide advanced therapeutic interventions in a structured, supportive environment.

Structured Residential Setting With High Clinical Engagement

As a licensed residential treatment center (RTC), we provide a highly structured environment that supports consistency, accountability, and focus. Clients engage in a full weekly schedule of therapy, adventure-based experiences, and guided reflection designed to promote sustainable change.

Low Client-to-Staff Ratio and Personalized
Attention

With a limited number of clients, our team is able to provide focused, individualized attention. This allows for deeper therapeutic relationships, more responsive care, and a treatment experience tailored to each client’s needs and goals.

Aftercare & Long-Term Recovery
Planning

We believe in comprehensive care and, as such, work with clients for long-term recovery planning. The Summit Graduation Phase is our way of ensuring that clients transition from treatment with the skills and planning needed for success. This program is embedded in our 90-day program and includes referrals and resources for post-treatment support.

Our Adventure-Based Women’s Rehab Program

Women who are struggling with alcohol or drug use often have their own specific needs in recovery. By offering a women-only program, clients have the ability to connect with peers who can understand and relate to what they’re going through. Women have the ability to form strong bonds with others and foster meaningful friendships that will likely last beyond treatment.

A Structured Daily Routine

Each day follows a structured daily routine at our facility. This includes individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. Each routine also has a heavy focus on adventure therapy and personal reflection. The goal in this structured routine is to promote accountability, healthy habits, and consistent progress as treatment continues.

In addition, the structure of this routine helps to ensure that the individual continues to live a well-balanced lifestyle as they complete treatment and enter long-term recovery.

Community Connection

An integral part of our treatment program is community connection. Recovery does not happen in isolation but through the support of others. Because this is a women’s-only program, our team places a strong emphasis on mutual connection and shared growth. Community connection can play a vital role in preventing relapse and supporting long-term recovery.

Holistic and Trauma-Informed Care

Complete healing involves more than just treating alcohol or drug addiction alone, but also addressing the unique needs of the individual and the underlying causes of substance use disorder. We utilize a holistic, trauma-informed treatment approach that looks at the individual before looking at their addiction. Our program also helps to ensure client safety and comfort throughout the treatment process.

What We Treat at Our Utah Rehab Center

At our Utah-based facility, we provide effective treatment for women struggling with a variety of substance use disorders. This includes alcohol use, opioid addiction, as well as addictions to stimulants, benzodiazepines, and illicit drugs such as cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin. We also specialize in providing dual diagnosis treatment for women who are struggling with co-occurring mental health conditions.

Evidence-Based Mental Health and Addiction Treatment

We use an evidence-based approach that treats mental health and addiction simultaneously. In addition, we integrate both adventure therapy and clinical therapy, allowing women to develop important life skills, greater resiliency, and emotional regulation. Personalized treatment plans are also tailored to each woman’s specific needs.

Integrated Treatment for Mental Health Conditions

Many women who struggle with drug or alcohol problems may also have mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or other related conditions. Reaching long-term recovery without addressing these underlying disorders can be nearly impossible.

For this reason, we utilize integrated treatment that addresses both alcohol use and mental health together, rather than as separate conditions. This helps promote sustainable healing.

Adventure Therapy

We utilize adventure therapy as a key aspect of our treatment program. This includes activities like hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and canyoneering. These activities help women build critical life skills that will be useful in long-term recovery, develop greater confidence, and improve overall emotional resilience. Adventure therapy allows for the fostering og trust and communication between peers.

Medication Management (as needed)

When necessary, medication management is utilized to treat mental health symptoms and ensure that any adjustments can be made as soon as possible and that medications are working effectively.

Personalized Treatment Plans Built Around Your Specific Needs

Every person’s journey with recovery is different – we do not utilize a one-size-fits-all approach. Rather, each treatment plan is tailored to the woman’s unique needs, background, and overall history with substance use.

Treatment Options to Support the Recovery Journey

At our rehab facilities, we set clients up for long-term success. We prioritize relapse prevention and family involvement throughout the entire recovery process.

Relapse Prevention

We believe that relapse prevention is critical and can be implemented in each and every stage of treatment, including the beginning. Relapse prevention can include developing important life skills, learning to recognize triggers, gathering a strong support system, and making a plan for continued care after treatment at our facility is complete.

The levels of care necessary following residential treatment can vary from person to person. Some people may benefit from a sober living facility, while others may benefit from support groups, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), or another alcohol or drug rehab program. Our team can work with the client to provide a referral or to help facilitate the next stage of care.

Family Involvement

We believe that recovery goes beyond the individual and includes an outside support system. Because of this, family members are encouraged to play an active role throughout the treatment process. This can involve family therapy and psychoeducation. Educational resources can help rebuild trust, improve communication, and strengthen relationships between family members.

Is It Time for Alcohol Treatment?

If alcohol use has been a part of a person’s life for an extended period of time, it can be difficult to recognize whether professional treatment is necessary. However, there are signs to look for that indicate whether an individual has a problem. At that point, it is critical to seek treatment as soon as possible, before the condition progresses.

When Alcohol Use Becomes a Problem

Critical signs to look for when determining if alcohol use has become a problem include:
  • Trying to cut back on alcohol use but struggling to do so
  • Experiencing withdrawal side effects when not using alcohol
  • Needing more and more alcohol to experience the same effects
  • Using alcohol despite relationship problems, employment struggles, or health problems
  • Continuing to use alcohol despite deteriorating mental health
  • Withdrawing from family members or friends
  • Hiding alcohol use from others

The Importance of Early Intervention

When it comes to alcohol use, early intervention is important because it can ensure the individual can get the help they need before the addiction gets worse or causes further disruption in their lives.
