Program Highlights
Comprehensive Assessment and Individual Therapy
Each client is assessed by licensed mental and medical healthcare providers to ensure each client’s needs are noted and addressed through treatment. This then proceeds to individual therapy, which helps clients forge a trusting bond with their treatment providers for private and safe healing.
Group and Family Therapy for Lasting Connection
Family and peer support in our recovery program is critical for lasting recovery. Through group and family therapy, clients learn how to better communicate with each other, trust in other people, and work with others. These skills are important not just for recovery, but as a useful tool for interactions with others post-treatment.
Evidence-Based Modalities: CBT, DBT, and Mindfulness Practices
Our rehab center uses a wide range of evidence-based modalities that address the underlying causes of addiction and co-occurring mental health issues. Some examples include:
- Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- Group therapy
- EMDR therapy
- Motivational interviewing (MI)
- Adventure therapy
- Equine therapy
- Mindfulness practices
- Yoga
- Meditation
- And more
Experiential and Adventure Therapy in the Utah Wilderness
Our exciting outdoor therapeutic adventures take clients through diverse terrain, including desert red rocks, mountains, farmland, and lush green forests. This awe-inspiring scenery allows our clients to enjoy a wealth of therapeutic outdoor activities, such as fishing, hiking, and rock climbing.
What to Expect During Treatment
Daily Structure That Builds Stability and Confidence
Clients split their time between outdoor adventures and “base,” our treatment center. While at base, clients engage in structured activities, such as daily individual and group therapy, while having access to a nurse and a medical doctor. Clients have time to practice self-care, participate in normal activities (such as doing laundry), and free time to rest.
Therapeutic Activities in Nature and Group Connection
Our therapeutic activities require clients to work together to further promote the development of coping skills and mental resilience. Outdoor activities in our drug treatment program help clients reconnect with others and find understanding companionship.
Mindfulness, Skill-Building, and Self-Reflection in Recovery
Engaging in nature not only teaches clients essential skills, such as teamwork, survival, and problem-solving, but it also encourages inner reflection and self-discovery. These skills, along with mindfulness, create a tool-kit for lasting and successful recovery.

Treatment Options and Levels of Care
Residential and Inpatient Treatment Programs
Our treatment facility at Legacy is primarily known for inpatient detox and residential treatment, which lasts for 90 days. We do transitional assistance and planning for further levels of care, which includes outpatient and aftercare services.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Day Treatment Options
The next level of care after residential or inpatient treatment is PHP for clients who need more intensive support. This program is offered to clients who may still struggle with cravings or have a high risk of relapse until they are ready for outpatient care.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Aftercare Support
Outpatient treatment options are flexible and allow clients to return to normal activities while still receiving care. This is typically the last step of treatment before moving on to aftercare services. Legacy believes in extensive aftercare planning while clients are in treatment. As such, clients will receive the resources and referrals they need for continuous support post-treatment.
Sober Living and Ongoing Alumni Resources
The Summit Graduation Phase is the final step of our 90-day treatment program. It’s a sober living home that equips clients with the tools and skills they need to transition from treatment to normal life. This connects clients with resources that they will utilize as alumni, such as support groups and community events. As such, alumni remain connected to the Legacy community, which offers a variety of resources they can utilize for lasting recovery.

Additional Program Features
Medication Management and Clinical Monitoring
Detox is the first step in treating drug and alcohol addiction, but it can be uncomfortable, and sometimes even dangerous. Our team of medical professionals is highly trained in addiction treatment, and as such, offers medical monitoring and medication management to make detox and recovery safe and comfortable.
Dual Diagnosis and Integrated Mental Health Treatment
Addiction and substance use disorder rarely occur on their own. These conditions can create or exacerbate existing mental health conditions. As such, Legacy is fully prepared with dual diagnosis-focused treatment plans. We can treat a wide variety of co-occurring mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and more.
Peer Support, Community, and Family Engagement
Our campfire culture and family program encourage clients to reach out for companionship and support. This includes integration into our alumni sober community, which offers further support and accountability post-treatment. Once you are part of Legacy’s family, you are never truly alone in your recovery journey.
Aftercare Planning and Long-Term Relapse Prevention
Recovering from drug abuse doesn’t stop once treatment is complete. It’s a lifelong journey that can be full of bumps and pitfalls. To protect our clients and promote long-term recovery, we meticulously plan for aftercare services while clients are in treatment. This, along with continued support services, allows our clients to avoid relapse and remain in recovery.
