How We Help You on Your Path to Healing

We deliver clinical mental health and substance abuse treatment at Legacy Treatment Center through three main avenues: individual, group and family therapy.
Every client at Legacy works with their own primary therapist. They will meet with their therapist a minimum of two times a week, with additional sessions as needed. This therapist is also responsible for communicating with the family, coordinating with referral sources, and facilitating family therapy sessions. We have a team approach to meeting the needs of our clients, and so in addition to sessions with their primary therapist, clients may work with another therapist for services such as specific substance abuse needs, EMDR, or family and attachment work.

Hybrid Program

One of the major advantages of having a hybrid program is that most of our individual and family therapy sessions are held indoors at our Residential Treatment Center (our Base facility). As a result, we don’t have to fight bad weather in the field, we have more privacy and less distractions, and we have access to technology for video family sessions and aftercare research.

Our clinical team also facilitates numerous groups per week – both on Base and out in the field while the clients are on adventure. Because of this model, it’s possible for our clients to participate in more clinician-facilitated groups each week. This increases the clinical sophistication of our program by allowing our clients to get exposure to multiple therapists and therapeutic approaches.

Our positive peer culture encourages clients to support one another throughout their individual healing. Our groups cover topics such as mindfulness and meditation, trauma resiliency, relapse prevention, substance abuse recovery, DBT skills, disordered eating, strengthening relationships, and aftercare planning. Sometimes groups also utilize experiential therapies such as Experiential Therapy, Adventure Therapy, or Equine Therapy.
