Job Description:
As a Field Guide at Legacy Treatment Center, you’ll be at the forefront of creating life-changing experiences for our clients. You’ll have the opportunity to combine your love for the outdoors with your passion for helping others, guiding them through challenging and rewarding adventures in nature. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading Outdoor Expeditions: Take our clients on thrilling outdoor excursions, including hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, and more. Inspire them to push their boundaries, develop resilience, and discover their inner strength.
Facilitating Therapeutic Experiences: Use the power of nature to facilitate therapeutic breakthroughs. Implement evidence-based interventions and experiential activities to support clients’ emotional, mental, and spiritual growth.
Ensuring Safety and Well-being: Prioritize the safety and well-being of our clients during outdoor activities. Maintain a high level of preparedness, conduct thorough risk assessments, and provide appropriate guidance and support throughout the journeys.
Building Strong Relationships: Foster a supportive and trusting rapport with clients, serving as a mentor, role model, and guide. Cultivate a positive and inclusive group dynamic that promotes collaboration, empathy, and personal growth.
Collaborating with a Multidisciplinary Team: Work closely with therapists, counselors, and other treatment professionals to ensure seamless integration of outdoor experiences with the overall therapeutic process. Participate in team meetings, provide insights, and contribute to the development of individualized treatment plans.
Qualifications:
- Passion for the outdoors and a deep appreciation for the healing power of nature
- Strong wilderness skills and experience in leading outdoor expeditions
- Certification in Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder (WFA/WFR)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in challenging situations
- Commitment to personal growth, integrity, and professional ethics
